1010 FURMAN AVENUE1010 FURMAN AVENUE The Furman neighborhood area reflects development in Corpus Christi between 1840 and 1945. This Prairie/Four Square home was built in 1913 and moved to this site in the 1940s from 622 Tancahua Street. The house was built by F. V. Arnim, an area ginner and farmer, who at the time of his death in 1961 had been the longest serving Nueces County Commissioner. It is a 2-story structure with a single bay porch and box columns. Structure has remained in the Arnim Family to date (2001). The Furman Avenue area historically qualifies for local landmark designation with several structures having the potential to qualify for National Register of Historic Places. Next Landmark » |
